We cannot serve ourselves from an empty vessel

Updated: May 23, 2023

When’s the last time you made a tasty romantic dinner for yourself? Got dressed up and danced the night away in your living room?

Put on your sexiest, most lush lingerie (or non-binary sexy yummy equivalent) and made a self-portrait? Lit a scented candle and allowed music to evoke an emotional response while moving through you? Gave yourself a slow full-body oil massage? Made a bonfire just for fun?

It’s can be so easy to reserve sensually nourishing acts for other people. Believing that it means nothing without an audience or partner.

Feeling destabilized and insecure awaiting responses from other people, throwing out fish hooks, waiting for a quick bite. Giving your power away, feeling drained, overwhelmed, confused.

It’s time to stop waiting for confirmation from others and love yourself. Love yourself. Feel into what your needs are and give them to yourself. What parts of yourself are you rejecting while getting lost in the noise of the mind?

Because we all know what it feels like when that noise starts. The voice that wants you to believe that you must have done something wrong. That someone is avoiding you or dislikes you. That they’re not really there for you.

When reality is that you are not really there for yourself. It is time to start fulfilling your own needs instead of waiting for others to do it for you.

Now, more than ever, it helps everything flow to draw from and nourish our inner source. Ourselves.

What would happen if you opened yourself up to the idea of giving yourself what you needed?

Or specifically asking for it? How would that change your way of being?

What do you do to truly nourish yourself? Something to chew on.

See you soon.

One love,

Juel
